IndoSmart M2
When I first heard Smart Telecom was going to lend us their EVDO modem for a few weeks, I was elated. I've been looking to check out their service since they launched it just under a year ago but I wasn't prepared to pay for two wireless broadband services.
The last few months, people have come up to me and told me how awful their wireless broadband services are and these are customers of various providers, not just from one place. I figured all the services have their ups and downs because some other people had little issues and were happy with their providers. Now that I've been using Smart's EVDO for a few days, it's pretty clear they still have a long way to go to be a serious wireless broadband player. Just check these screenshots. Is it even possible to get 30 and 50Mbps upstream on a ZTE AC2726 EVDO modem when both the network and the modem doesn't support more than 1.8Mbps uplink.Even stranger is the fact that my settings for HSDPA via Huawei got dragged into this whole mess. Tested on Mac OS X 10.5.8.
